Spur Chicken Spice 200ml An aromatic and delicious blend of herbs and spices specially selected to enhance the flavour of any chicken dish, Spur's Chicken Spice can also be used to dress up hot chips, gravies and savoury rice. Available in a 200ml shaker with a handy flip-top cap, Spur Chicken Spice is suitable for vegans and contains no added MSG. Store in a cool, dry place and use within 6 months of opening. Spicy Chicken Strips Ingredients 4 Chicken Breasts (380g), cut into about 8 strips 80ml (1/3 cup) cake flour 2 extra-large eggs, beaten 560ml (2 1/4 cups) cornflakes, crushed 30ml (2 Tbsp) Spur Chicken Spice 200ml or Spur Seasoning Salt 10ml (2 tsp) chopped fresh parsley or 3ml (1/2 tsp) dried parsley Add freshly ground black pepper to taste SWEET CHILLI SAUCE: 125ml (1/2) cup Spur Salad & French Fry Dressing 30ml (2 Tbsp) sweet chilli sauce 1 clove garlic, finely crushed (optional) Instructions Roll chicken strips in the flour, then dip in the eggs until coated. Mix the cornflakes, Spur Chicken Spice 200ml, parsley and pepper. Coat the chicken strips and place in the fridge for about 30 minutes to prevent the crumbs from falling off when frying. Sweet Chilli Sauce: Mix the ingredients and set aside. Bake the strips in a preheated oven at 200 degrees celsius for about 15 minutes. Serve warm with sauce. Variations Substitute the cornflakes with 250ml (1 cup) dried breadcrumbs. Cooking Tip For a healthy alternative bake the chicken strips in the oven. Note: The strips will be less golden in colour when oven-baked. Alternatively: Chilli Cheese Bites Ingredients 200ml (3/4 cup) cake flour 10ml (2 tsp) baking powder 2ml (1/4 tsp) cayenne pepper 5ml (1 tsp) Spur Chicken Spice 200ml Freshly ground black pepper to taste 15ml (1 Tbsp) olive oil 1 medium onion, finely chopped 80g fresh spinach, chopped 125g feta cheese, crumbled 1 extra-large egg, beaten 100ml Spur Durky Sauce Cooking oil for deep-frying Instructions Sift flour, baking powder and cayenne pepper together. Add Spur Chicken Spice and pepper. Heat oil in a heavy-based frying pan, add onion and sauté until soft. Add spinach and cook for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly. Add feta. Add spinach and feta mixture to the dry ingredients and mix through. Combine beaten egg and Spur Durky Sauce, add to spinach mixture and mix until well combined. Spoon heaped teaspoons of the mixture into hot oil and deep-fry until golden brown. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon. Drain on paper towel. Variations 1. Substitute spinach with 215g canned sweet corn. 2. Substitute the feta with 250ml (1 cup) grated Cheddar Cheese. Cooking Tip Dip this delicious little mouthfull in our delectable Sweet Chilli Sauce.
